Goldstar Airlines ready to airlift football fans to Brazil

New entrant to Ghana’s aviation industry, Goldstar Airlines together with Seasons Travel and Tours is calling on various football supporters’ unions across the country for possible collaboration to be airlifted free-of-charge to Brazil to support the national team next month.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of Seasons Travel and Tours Mr Eric Bannerman, even before the airline resumes its official operations in June 13, 2014, plans are far advanced to airlift over 500 football fans from various supporters’ unions including people living with disability.

Mr Bannerman, who doubles as the founder and president of the National Disabled Supporters Union told GhanaWeb in an interview that Goldstar Airlines has come to provide relief and support for persons living with disabilities in the country.

He added that persons with disabilities are always sidelined when it comes to mobilization of supporters to international competitions, and his out-fit will offer them the opportunity to be part of history this time.

“We are going to use the proceeds of the company to support persons living with disability, no airline company has thought of this, and in Goldstar we are fully committed and strategically positioned to changing the lives of disabled persons in this country in few months to come.

In January we airlifted them to South Africa for the CHAN Tournament and this time we’re trying to take 50 people from each region, and also calling on other supporters’ unions to come on board.

Our air fares are the cheapest you may find on the market, thus; Accra to London (Gatwick) is $999, Accra- Guangzhou (China) is going for $1199, Accra-Baltimore (Washington) is as low as $1299, and Accra –Brazil (Natal) is for only $1399.” he said.

Destinations

According to the CEO, Goldstar Airlines with origins from the United State of America is set to fly Accra-London-Accra two times weekly and Accra-Baltimore-Accra two times weekly. The airline would also fly Accra-Guangzhou-Accra once a week.

Mr Bannerman also stressed that the Airline will fly 11:00am Saturdays and Tuesdays from Accra to London and from London to Accra will be Sundays and Wednesdays at 2:00pm.

From Accra to Baltimore will be 11:00am Saturdays and Tuesdays and 2:00pm Sundays and Wednesdays from London.

Also from Accra to Baltimore is going to be Sundays and Wednesdays and Baltimore to Accra will be Fridays and Mondays.

Goldstar Aircraft

Mr Bannerman however mentioned that Goldstar Airlines currently fly two main luxurious aircraft which is the MD-11and 747. “The MD-11 has the capacity of carrying 360 passengers whereas the 747 takes 530 passengers, so depending on the number of passengers we have will determine the type of aircraft to use”.

Services

We are bringing the Ghanaian concept on board with the use of the local languages such as Hausa, Ga, Twi together with the English language to educate passengers to make them feel at home when on board the flight.

Mr Bannerman assured that Goldstar Airlines is poised to offer passengers especially to Brazil next month for the football fiesta the best of services, comfort and as well ensure absolute security for all.
