Goldstar Air purchases three aircrafts

A wholly Owned Ghanaian airline Goldstar Air has purchased three Boeing aircrafts to commence operations.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of the airline Mr. Eric Bannerman the aircrafts comprises Boeing 767,777 and 737.

The aircrafts which is based in France now will be branded in Ghanaian colors upon getting clearance from the Ghana civil aviation authority to commence operations.

The acquisition financed by the aircrafts owners have flexible terms where Goldstar Air has two years to complete the payment arrangements outlined in the agreement provisos or stipulations.

In a statement copied to GhanaWeb, the Chief Executive Officer said there are additional aircrafts waiting in the wings to be purchase and will be brought in anytime demand sky rockets.

The Boeing 767 and 777,wide body aircrafts will ply the long haul routes such as Baltimore Washington, Dubai, Guangzhou and London, with the Boeing 737 being deployed to ply on the West Africa routes comprising Abidjan, Lagos, Abuja, Monrovia, Freetown, Banjul, Dakar and Conakry.

“About Ninety percent of the work is done and the only Ten percent is for the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority to issue us the license and go with us to inspect the aircrafts, stating that the inspection fee have already been paid”, Mr. Bannerman confirmed.

He also indicated that the cabin crew screening will kick-start next month, adding that this process will open up employment possibilities to Ghanaians based home and abroad.

Goldstar Air though at its embryonic stage, recently procured a mouth-watering deal with Baltimore Washington International Airport for free landing and parking and that has put the company on a strong footing to do business”stated”the CEO said.

Mr. Bannerman intimated that his resolve to build a hanger at the Tamale International Airport will be done soon to serve as engineering school for his employees and others to acquire the tricks of the trade, meanwhile the Diamond hanger which is at London Stansted,the second biggest hangar in Europe will be use as engineering and training base in London.
