Goaso branch of GCB wins award

Goaso (B/A), Oct. 7, GNA - The Goaso branch of the Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) has once again emerged as the zonal overall best in the 2007 service year. The branch was adjudged the best in terms of performance in the year 2005 and has since intensified operations. Mr John Agyekum-Badu, Sunyani Zonal Manager of the GCB disclosed at a shareholders meeting in Goaso in Asunafo North Municipality in Brong Ahafo.

He said out of the 17 branches of the bank in the region, Goaso branch had over the years contributed immensely towards the development of the bank and appealed to the other branches to emulate it. The Area Manager called on stakeholders and shareholders to buy more shares to enable the bank to achieve its objectives. Mr Agyekum-Badu charged the workers to discharge their duties effectively for the rapid growth of the bank, and expressed gratitude to the management of the GCB for instituting the awards scheme to recognize good performance and hard work of the bank's branches. He noted that the branch's laudable achievement was due to dedication, hard work and efficient service of the entire staff. Mr Agyekum-Badu pledged to sustain business in the catchments area and work hard to win new businesses to boost the bank's performance this year, so it could win the national award.

The branch bank was presented with a certificate of merit and GHC 2000 as its award.
