Former Petroleum Minister Emmanuel Armah kofi Boah, has stated that government has no justification not to cushion Ghanaians against the fuel price hikes .

According to him the government can deal with the situation by scrapping the taxes on fuel.

He also noted that monies from the stabilization fund can also be used to stabilize the situation .

According to him, the fuel prices have increased this year due to fluctuations in the cedi and dollar exchange rate and also price hikes on the world market.

The Member of parliament for Ellembelle as well also bemoaned that, the hikes had gone past the threshold bearable for Ghanaians.

He said, “I did that and the stabilization levy is to cushion Ghanaians against times like this.”
