Osei Tutu School inaugurates cadet corps

A SIXTY-member cadets corps of the Osei Tutu Secondary School aimed at assisting the school authorities to promote discipline among the students has been inaugurated at the school at Akropong in the Atwima District of the Ashanti Region.

The Cadets Corps instituted by the school?s authorities would also be used to foster close relationship between the academic staff and the students. Reviewing the parade, Capt. L. Atroh, of the Fourth Battalion of the Ghana Army commended the school authorities for their bold initiative.

He said the training which they have acquired will boost their physical and mental discipline.

Mr. Ofori Yentumi, Headmaster of the school who delivered the welcoming address commended the officers of the Fourth Battalion for guiding the cadets to acquire such effective training and urged them to pass on their knowledge to the other students for the benefit of the school. Cadet Obeng Fabri, was adjudged the best overall cadet whilst cadet Ben Eyeson took the best drilling prize. ? Captain Atroh (middle) inspecting the parade mounted by the cadets.
