“I have spent a lot of time over the last three years engaging the various business leaders and groupings and though I have a clearer and better understanding of the business environment, I believe the Ghanaian business community is doing well,” Mahama said at the 14th Ghana Club 100 awards ceremony.

In a speech read on his behalf by the chief of staff Julius Debrah, the president noted particular attention has been given to the growth of business on his tours across the nation to aid them structure their operation to accelerate government transformation agenda.

“Lately as I go round the regions, I also make it a point to interact with business groupings to help them understand government policies and to hear first hand their concerns and impediments to business expansions.”

He believes private enterprises have a critical role to play in the government’s transformational agenda.

“As we move ahead with the implementation of our agenda for transformation it is you the business leaders who will help us identify the opportunities in the private sector.
