Ghana to host Trade Policy Course for African countries

Accra, Oct. 7, GNA - Ghana would host the second World trade Organisation (WTO)/Africa Development Bank (ADB)/Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) Trade Policy Course (TPC) for all African countries in Accra from October 13 to October 24.

A statement from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and President's Special Initiative said the TPC was aimed at building the human and institutional capacity of African countries on multilateral issues. It said the course would also deepen the understanding of the multilateral trading systems and facilitate the rapid integration of African countries in the WTO frame, as specifically recognized by Ministers in the Doha Ministerial Declaration.

The statement said other inter-organizations that would participate in the course include the ADB, ECA, New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD) Secretariat, Economic and Monetary Community of Central African States (CEMAC).

The rest are Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), Southern African Development Community (SADC), Economic and Monetary Union of West African States (UEMOA) and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
