Ghana tipped for Oil & Gas conference again

Ghana has for the third time, been tipped as a suitable venue to host the 18th Annual Offshore West Africa Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition scheduled for January 21 to 23, 2014.

This follows immediately a similar successful event held this year, attracting an international audience of over 1,200 from 38 countries.

“The premier technical forum for the West African offshore oil and gas exploration and production industry will return to Ghana in 2014 for the latest edition, after hosting this event in 2010, 2011 and 2013,” said Mr. Eric Pwadura.

Mr. Pwadura, who is the Acting Head, Corporate Affairs at the Ghana National Corporation, said this on Wednesday at a press conference to announce the Offshore West Africa Conference and Exhibition.

Pennwell Corporation, business-to-business Media Company, is organizing the event with UK Trade and Investment section of the British High Commission. Mr. Pwadura said the conference and exhibition would address vital technology and development issues for the West African offshore oil and gas market.

In the course of this, there would be a comprehensive educational programme and exhibition, under the conference theme: “Expanding West Africa’s Offshore Potential, he said.

Mr. David Paganie, Director of Offshore Conferences, PenWell Corporation said the Offshore Conference and Exhibition is expected to bring together national and international operators to play an important role in expanding the West African market.

He said Ghana was a country at the centre of recent impressive offshore discoveries and home to some of the largest offshore projects in the region, thus, playing host ones again for the 2014 event.
