The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, Simon Madjie, has disclosed that Ghana has earned a Tier 1 ranking in the 2024 Global Cybersecurity Index released by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

According to him, Ghana scored 92.27% in the global index, placing it among only 46 countries worldwide and fifth in Africa.

Speaking during the media launch of the 2025 Cybersecurity Awareness Month on Septemeber 3, 2025, Madjie called for sustained commitment to cybersecurity, stressing the importance of staying ahead in the face of evolving cyber threats.

"While this is a proud milestone, we must remain proactive given the rapidly changing cyber threat landscape. We must continue to invest in advanced infrastructure, develop skills, foster innovation, and deepen public-private collaboration in cybersecurity," he said.

He urged both the private and public sectors to strengthen Ghana's fight against cybercrime and threats.
