The International Monetary Fund (IMF) Executive Board is scheduled to consider the fourth review of Ghana's $3 billion programme on Monday, July 7, 2025, in Washington, DC, USA.

According to reports, Ghana has met all the necessary conditions required for the fourth review, paving the way for the disbursement of the next tranche of $370 million from the Fund.

All the relevant documents have been submitted to the IMF Executive Board to meet the four-day processing timeline ahead of the Board meeting.

This development follows the staff-level agreement reached between the Government of Ghana and the IMF on the fourth review in April 2025.

The Fund is expected to approve the review and disburse the next tranche by July 11, 2025. This will bring Ghana’s total disbursement under the programme to approximately $2.3 billion out of the total $3 billion facility expected by the end of the programme.

In a related development, Parliament has approved a $360 million financing agreement between the Government of Ghana and the International Development Association (IDA) of the World Bank under the Second Resilient Recovery Development Policy Financing initiative.

The facility, which was presented to Parliament on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, by the Deputy Minister of Finance, Thomas Nyarko Ampem, is intended to support government efforts in improving livelihoods, accelerating economic growth, sustaining macroeconomic stability, curbing inflation, and restoring broad-based economic recovery.
