Ghana bourse slips again, most stocks untraded

ACCRA, Aug 18

Shares on the Ghana Stock Exchange ended lower on Wednesday with the all-share index losing 11.8 points to 778.32.

Dealers said a drop in the cedi currency and poor annual results from companies hurt by last year's energy crisis has undermined the market which has fallen by 10.4 percent so far this year.

Volume on Wednesday was just 304 million cedis ($116,000) and practically all of that came in just one share, bank SSB (SSB.GH), which was unchanged on 1,980 cedis.

Most share prices were unchanged and two-thirds of the 21 listed stocks did not trade.
