Ghana and West Africa ready to ...

harness the benefits of emarketplaces and eprocurement

PanAvest International and Development Corporation have signed an exclusive agreement to promote and market the ProcServe suite of trading management and eMarketplace solutions in Africa, Dr. Douglas Boateng, CEO of PanAvest, tells SmartProcurement.

The decision was taken after a careful investigation of various e-supply chain management solution sets over a 12 month period.

Commenting on the relationship, Dr. Boateng says that PanAvest, a 5th party supply chain organisation (5PSCM), decided to affiliate with ProcServe because of its flexibility, security accreditation, robustness, the ease of integrating its e-solutions with legacy and ERP systems and more importantly, its successfully tried and tested rapid implementation into the public sector and other targeted verticals.

ProcServe currently hosts and manages the largest industrial and public sector electronic marketplace in the world.

This business relationship reinforces ProcServe's strategy to extend its proven, relatively cost effective, agile and simple technological solution sets to the public sector and other targeted verticals in the emerging world.

"Africa and the emerging world markets continue to invest in a number of technological platforms. For various reasons the continent has not yet harnessed the potential these systems offer. What the continent needs are technological partners willing to work with us to collaboratively develop Afro-centric technological solutions and not just sell us technological platforms," says Dr. Boateng.

PanAvest International participates on a need basis in projects that make a real and sustainable difference to clients' overall performance and bottom line results, says Boateng.

ProcServe have expressed their joy about working with Dr. Boateng saying that they thrilled to be working with Dr. Boateng and a specialised 5PSCM organisation of PanAvest International's caliber and look forward to offering their services to, and working with, customers in the region.

ProcServe is a wholly owned subsidiary of the PA Consulting Group and provides fast, flexible and secure electronic marketplaces and trading connectivity solutions. ProcServe's hosted, custom-branded solutions offer customers with the ability to leverage a software-as-a-service solution and maintain their own uniquely branded and configured marketplace. Customers enjoy a faster solution set up, lower cost of maintenance, and a secure environment. ProcServe also delivers Zanzibar, OPEN and xchangewales on behalf of the UK Public Sector.

PanAvest International is a niche 5PSCM organization. It was formed to work with forward thinking businesses to enhance their value creation, market share and profitability through world-class supply chain management principles and technological solutions. With advancement in information technology PanAvest in 2008 became a 'networked quasi-virtual company', with extensive internationally independent and shared vision partners and service providers.
