The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) closed lower on Thursday, September 11, 2025, with both benchmark indices recording losses amid a slight slowdown in trading activity.
The GSE Composite Index (GSE-CI) fell to 7,196.58 points, bringing its year-to-date (YTD) return to 47.21 percent.
Similarly, the GSE Financial Stock Index (GSE-FSI) declined to 3,477.05 points, reflecting a 46.05 percent YTD gain.
Market capitalisation, however, remained steady at GH¢147 billion.
Total market activity slipped by 0.50 percent compared to the previous session, with 407,090 shares exchanging hands at a total value of GH¢517,572.19.
How the Ghana Stock Exchange performed on September 4
AngloGold Ashanti Depository Shares (AADS) gained GH¢0.01 to close at GH¢0.42, while Access Bank Ghana (ACCESS) lost GH¢0.01 to settle at GH¢16.35.
AADS dominated trading, accounting for 167,156 shares valued at GH¢70,205.52.
It was followed by Société Générale Ghana (SOGEGH), Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI), SIC Insurance (SIC), and Republic Bank Ghana (RBGH).
