Accra, Dec. 19, GNA - Ghana Commercial Bank on Friday said it was committed to the development of local businesses to enhance the country's economic growth.
In this direction, the Bank said it would continue to support the export sector with various lines of credit for importation of capital goods to improve on their production capacity.
"The bank will venture out boldly to grow viable Ghanaian businesses and to ensure the expansion of the productive base of the country's economy."
Mrs Matilda Obeng Ansong, Managing Director of the Bank, was speaking at a reception for its corporate clients in Accra during which some companies were awarded plaques for dealing with the Bank for various lengths of time.
She said the Bank would use its maturity and in-depth local knowledge and expertise to nurture small companies into giants. Mrs Obeng-Ansong said to response to the competitive business environment the Bank was constantly working at improving its service delivery.
"Our prime objective in our relationship with you is to expertly support you in the years ahead to enjoy first class and care free banking services."
However, she said, to ensure smooth operation the corporate clients should be able to furnish the Bank with their business plans as well as the direction to ensure that the Bank joined in at an early stage in their implementation.
Mrs Obeng Ansong advised the companies to keep proper book of accounts and ensure that their accountants and auditors produce the required finances to ensure seamless banking transactions. Ghana Cocoa Board, Graphic Communications Group, Printex and Ghana Oil Company were among some of the companies that received awards.
