Ghana Chamber of Commerce woos Egyptian investors

President of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI), Nana Dr. Appiagyei Dankwawoso I have urged investors and manufacturers from Egypt to invest in the numerous business opportunities in Ghana.

At a Ghana-Egypt business forum organised at Swiss Spirit Alisa Hotel in Accra, Dr. Appiagyei Dankwawoso I advised investors present to explore the various sectors of the economy for investment opportunities.

“There are myriad investment opportunities in Ghana which cut across the economy including, but not limited to, infrastructure and real estate development, healthcare and pharmaceuticals agriculture and agro-processing, energy generation and mining, banking and finance, information and communication, technology, textiles and clothing,” Dr. Appiagyei Dankwawoso I said.

The business forum had several Egyptian businessmen and manufacturers exhibiting their products for prospective clients.

As a representative voice of the business community in Ghana with legislative backing, Dr. Appiagyei said the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry is in strong support of government’s industrialization drive to strengthen private participation in the overall growth and development of the country.

Statistics available from the International Trade Centre indicates that Ghana’s export to Egypt in 2016 was $15.3 million representing 0.1% of Ghana total export whiles Ghana’s import from Egypt amounted to $69.4 million representing 0.6% Ghana’s total imports.
