German fire company to set up in Ghana

Dee En Haa (D+H), a German fire company, is to set up a production plant in Ghana.

The company designs, develops and constructs electronic controlled smoke and heat vent systems for multi-storey apartment blocks and private homes.

A statement issued in Accra by Mr Michael Amarfio, Country Manager of D+H said the company, the first in Africa, hopes to use Ghana as its base to service the whole of the West Africa sub-region.

The statement said in the event of fire, a smoke vent system automatically opens windows and flaps the smoke out to ensure the safety of the people inside and make it easier for the source of the fire to be detected.
