GWCL hits revenue target

Management of Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has assured Ghanaians that it will explore every opportunity to change the fortunes of the company and see it rise again.

According to management of the company, they have adopted innovative means to solve the teething challenges like revenue mobilization of the company.

In a statement signed and issued by the Managing Director (MD) of GWCL, Ing. Fred Lokko, and copied to Today in Accra recently, the company announced that the first month of 100-day programme saw the revenue of the company go up by 40 per cent with monthly deficit going down to 66 per cent.

In March 27, 2015 the statement asserted that the GWCL embarked on high impact performance improvement programme (HIPIP), which aimed at transforming the company into a profitable public utility.

With the slogan; "Ghana Water; At Your Service," the statement noted that the company begun recording a positive attitude to work in all the ten regions in the country.”

The results of this change of attitude, the statement said, have been productive in dealing with emergency cases of the company.

And apart from that, the statement noted further that the changes had significantly improved the revenue collection of GWCL.

Notwithstanding the gains, it pointed out that there were a few challenges which the company ought to surmount.

"Ghana Water Company Limited has embarked on several reforms in the past but this HIPIP has resolved that...this particular reform will lead to the attainment of the vision of GWCL of becoming a world class water company, MD of the GWCL, Mr. Lokko, stated.

He stressed that the company was committed to serving the public with dignity and respect.
