GT: Ghanaians Take charge again!

The Government of Ghana (GOG) and Telecom Management Partners (TMP) signed an agreement in 2003, giving management of Ghana Telecommunications Company Ltd to TMP for a period of three years ending 31st December 2005. The Board of GT and TMP have decided to end the relationship with effect from 31st December 2006.

A new management team has been appointed as follows:

  • Mr. D. Oduro-Nyaning, Deputy Chief Executive Officer will act as Chief Executive Officer.

  • Mr. Joe Owusu-Ansah, Ag. Chief Financial Officer will continue to act as Chief Financial Officer.

  • Mr. David Mettle, Deputy Chief Technical Officer will act as Deputy Chief Technical Officer

  • Mr. Philip Sowah, Chief Officer/Onetouch

  • Ms. Fitnat Adjetey, Company Solicitor

  • Mr. Ekow Mill, Company Secretary
The GT Board, is chaired by Nana Antwi-Boasiako, a Chartered Accountant. Other members of the board are; Dr. Mahama Bawumia, Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Ms Vickie Bright, Mr. Edmund Annan, Mr. Kenwuud Nuworsu, Mr. E. K. A. Dickson, Mr. Kenneth Anewenah and Mr. Ekow Mills as Member/Secretary. The other member of the Board, Miss Ursula Owusu, CEO of Westel Telesystems, whose membership of GT raised questions of conflict of interest, is already on her way out of the Board.

The Board of Ghana Telecom will continue to play its supervisory functions to ensure that the public interest is safeguarded.
