GSE index inches up on low volumes

Accra, July 19, GNA - The GSE All-Share Index, the main stock gauge, inched up in trading on Thursday on low volumes. The index went up by 1.53 points at 5,358.56 from at 5,357.03 on Wednesday.

Total shares that changed hands fell to 126,600 from 254,100 shares while change for the year rose to 7.04 per cent from 7.01 per cent. There were seven price changes, six up and one down with Cocoa Products Company being the only loser by 0.0008 GH cedis at 0.0530 GH cedis.

Ecobank Ghana Limited gained 0.0010 GH cedis at 1.4810 cedis, Enterprise Insurance was 0.0200 GH cedis better at 1.0500 GH cedis, Ghana Commercial Bank was 0.0001 GH cedis better at 0.6831 GH cedis, Guinness Ghana Limited rose by 0.0005 GH cedis at 0.9595 GH cedis, SG-SSB made 0.0100 GH cedis at 0.8900 GH cedis and Standard Chartered Bank gained 0.0005 GH cedis at 18.0625 GH cedis.

Market capitalization ended the day at 11,513.92 GH cedis from 11,512.59 million GH cedis.
