GSE continues good run, but volumes low

Accra, Aug. 11, GNA - The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) posted another good run on Monday but volumes traded were low.

The GSE All-Share Index, the main stock index, was up by 6.98 points at 2,393.48 points, but volumes traded plunged from 4.6 million shares to a mere 31,300.

The bourse on Friday posted one of its highest traded shares that saw 4.6 million shares changing hands on the back of SSB Bank that sold more than 4.3 million shares.

The change for the year to date ended at 71.54 per cent. There were three price changes, all positive.

Unilever led the way with a 198-cedi gain at 7,900 cedis, SSB Bank rose by 60 cedis at 7,500 cedis and Ghana Commercial Bank was six cedis richer at 7,416 cedis.

Market capitalization opened higher at 9,633.77 billion cedis from 9,447.60 billion cedis on Friday.
