GSE Index opens week on positive note

Accra, March 25, GNA - The GSE All Share Index of the Accra bourse rose 9.07 points on the back of gains by Ecobank Ghana Limited and Ghana Commercial Bank.

The Index closed the session at 7,220.63 points from 7,211.56 on Thursday.

Shares that changed hands were more than twice higher at 258,600 shares from Thursday's level of 98,800 shares with GOIL alone selling 140,500 shares.

Change year to date now stands at 9.41 per cent.

There were three price changes - two positive and a negative. Ecobank Ghana gained 0.01 GH cedis at 2.56 GH cedis and Ghana Commercial Bank was up 0.03 GH cedis at 1.22 GH cedis.

State Insurance Company lost 0.02 GH cedis to close at 0.38 GH cedis. Market capitalisation ended the session up at 13,563.22 million GH cedis from 13,555.61 million GH cedis.
