GSE Index goes up in quiet trading

Accra, May 8, GNA - Trading on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) started the week on a quiet note on Monday with the main index rising slightly.

GSE All-Share Index, the main stock index, gained 1.67 points at 4,782.46 points from at 4,780.79 points, buoyed by a 27-cedi rise in the share price of Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited (GGBL). Shares that changed hands were better at 60,800 from 11,300 on Friday.

On the broader market GGBL was the sole mover with a 27-cedi gain at 8,600 cedis.

Market capitalisation was 92,434.05 billion cedis from 92,429.60 billion cedis.
