GSE - All Share index makes modest gain

Accra, May 24, GNA - The Ghana Stock Exchange opened on a low note on Monday with the GSE-All Share Index, the key market measure, up a modest 5.51 points.

The index ended the session up at 6,824.39 points from 6,818.88 points during the previous trading on Friday.

The change for the year to date is now 92.05 points.

Total volumes continued to slide as shares that changed hands dipped more than half to close at 101,600 shares compared to 292,800 shares at the previous close.

There were seven positive price changes.

Trust Bank Limited (TBL) gained 300 cedis at 30,800 cedis; Societe-General SSB Bank (SG-SSB) gained one cedis at 31,011 cedis, Standard Chartered Bank (Stan Chart) made 49 cedis at 88,900 and Patterson Zochonis (PZ) was up 50 cedis at 3,250 cedis.

Home Finance Company (HFC) was up one cedi at 10,106 cedis, Guinness Ghana Limited (GGL) gained one cedi at 12,011 cedis and Cocoa Processing Company (CPC) made three cedis at 1,713 cedis.

Market Capitalisation was up at 96,367.95 billion cedis compared to 96,353.82 billion cedis from 3,301.8 million issued shares.
