A renowned clearing company, Fantega Company Limited, whose licence was revoked by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) last year, has been cleared of any wrongdoing by the authority.

After thorough investigations into the allegations, GRA said it established that there was no evidence to back that allegation against Fantega.

It therefore restored the operating licence of Fantega Company Limited.

GRA revealed that one Vida Deganus, a freelance clearing agent and Nii Adjei Sowah, an employee of Fantega Company Limited, facilitated a deal without the consent of the company.

The authority therefore banned the two persons from doing business with customs.

Fantega Company Limited, by this clearance, has appealed to the general public, especially its loyal customers, to remain calm and continue doing business with them.

According to Nana Obokomatta IX, Chief Executive of Fantega Company, his outfit’s licence, which was revoked by the GRA over claims of falsifying the port of loading from India to China leading to undervaluation/under-invoicing, had been restored.

He said the company was currently in full operation since the two persons – Vida Deganus and Nii Adjei Sowah – facilitated the deal without the consent of the company which caused loss of revenue to the state.

As a result, he said his company had put in place stringent structures to forestall future occurrences.

Nana Obokomatta added that he was extremely enthusiastic about the outcome of GRA’s investigations.
