The Ghana Tourism Authority, according to the Branch Manager also intends to collaborate with the GPHA Tourist Club to promote tourism in the Tema region.

He disclosed this during the chocolate day which is marked during the Valentine’s day.

“We are working with GPHA actually to put in some basic infrastructure and very soon we will become one of the leading tourist attraction sites in the country,” he said.

The day was used to administer questions about the country’s tourist sites to the general public and those who answered correctly were given bars of chocolates and chilled chocolate drinks.

Mercy Akonoh, President of GPHA Tourist Club said the club has used all its visits to tourist attraction sites to promote the port authority and the service the port renders to its customers.

“Where ever we go, we have our logo, we have buses, when we are asked where we are coming from, we tell them we are coming from the port, when we are asked what we do there, we tell them what services the port offers. That is the port is safe for import and export,” she said.
