The leading oil marketing company in the country, GOIL has held an interaction session with its transporters who play an important responsibility in GOIL’s value chain, especially when they are bringing in products from the depots to customers.

According to GOIL, an efficient transportation system, safety on the roads and delivery of the products at the right time are critical to the company’s success.

The interaction provided a platform to discuss new challenges and the introduction of new technologies to make sure that products are transported in a safe manner.

Head of Operations of GOIL, Benjamin Torkonoo said aging trucks will be wiped off and modern equipment will be put on existing trucks.

“We want to move a step forward with regards to the transports that we have on the road and we also want to introduce new technologies like on-board computers, some of the safe devices that we need to incorporate into our fleet and also to some of the operational issues which sometimes the drivers and the transporters do face to address those challenges and make sure that we are all aligned as a company and as a partner in the business,” he said.

He added that GOIL has put in place stringent measures to prevent adulteration of their products.

“In the market today, other OMCs are facing problems of adulteration of products and the rest of them. One of the things that GOIL is doing is to tighten up to ensure that we don’t have these issues happening in GOIL,” he averred.
