GIPC pledges support towards Tourism Single Window Destination project

As an industry that thrives on investment among other things, Ghana’s Tourism sector is set to experience more growth as the Ghana Investment Promotion Center (GIPC) pledges commitment to creating more investment opportunities for the sector.

Speaking at the launch of the Single Window Destination project Tuesday August 2017, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Center (GIPC), Mr. Yofi Grant indicated that the support is targeted at helping grow the tourism sector which provides unique and interesting investment opportunities for Ghana.

With more investors coming in through support from GIPC he explained, the country’s potential in the tourism sector will be fully unearthed and developed, thereby generating more income for government and placing Ghana on the ranks of tourism worldwide.

“Tourism presents a very interesting investment opportunity in this country and with tourism we have such great tourism assets which with a little bit of development and some reshaping will be world class.

“We do associate ourselves with the efforts being made by the Minister (Catherine Afeku), and the Ghana Tourism Authority to develop our assets by looking for investors to come in”, he stated.

The Single Window Destination project is a single technological platform made up of different components where all sector players can tap in and have a one stop shop for the promotion of the destination Ghana.

The project is targeted at promoting excellence in the tourism industry by raising the standards of hospitality agencies and improving their services. It will, among other things, will generate revenue for the Ghana Tourism Authority, provide visibility for the Authority, improve data collection, and generally improve standards in the sector, making it attractive for investors and tourists.
