CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotions Centre, Yoofi Grant has debunked the perception that GIPC is only for foreign investors. He clarified that the company is country blind and that unlike foreign investors, indigenous investors are not bound by law to register with the company and because of that most indigenous businesses do not register with them.

He said GIPC has now decided to seek out the local businesses and give them the necessary incentives to grow.

Speaking at an Investment Opportunities Forum that forms part of the Citi Business Festival, Mr Grant said “we will now come to you, we will ask you what your problems are, what you expect and use them all in trying to come up with our laws and regulations. Indeed, we have started already, we met various groups of people, specialised groups. We’ll now be talking to SMEs, SMIs to talk about the business environment, what we’re proposing to do and how we can make it better”.

He added that they will be focusing on young business entrepreneurs since they are the future.
