The acting Director General of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), Mr. Michael Luguje, has paid a courtesy call on GCNet to explore ways of deepening collaboration to ensure efficient and effective business transactions at the port.

The GPHA has been a longstanding partner of GCNet and both institutions have been actively working together on various projects, including the automation of processes, to realise a fully paperless port regime.

Welcoming Mr. Luguje and his team to the offices of GCNet, Dr. Nortey Omaboe-Executive Chairman expressed gratitude for the visit and pledged the company’s commitment to working with GPHA and other key stakeholders in the trade facilitation community to make this country the world’s preferred trading hub.

Dr. Omaboe assured the team that GCNet will continue to partner GHPA to build a constructive and productive relationship that positions both organisations to leverage opportunities for growth and expansion.

Mr. Luguje, on his part, promised to work with GCNet to ensure the success of port reforms in the country.

The GPHA boss commended GCNet for the pioneering role it has played over the years in fostering trade development and enhancing revenue mobilisation through the deployment of innovative e-applications for efficient paperless trade and Customs transactions.

GPHA and GCNet, therefore, pledged to lead in rallying all stakeholders to vigorously pursue implementing the paperless ports regime to boost business competitiveness, reduce the cost of business and turnaround time, and enhance the generation of revenue for the state.

Mr. Luguje was accompanied by the General Manager for Corporate Affairs and Marketing, Mrs. Esther Gyebi, and other senior members of management.

Supporting Dr. Omaboe from the GCNet team were General Manager, Alwin Hoegerle; Deputy General Manager, Emmanuel Darko; Product Development Manager, Carl Sackey; Communications Manager, Aba Lokko; and TradeNet Manager, Eben Engmann.
