GCB to improve on good customer relations

Tamale, March 3, GNA - The Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) is working around the clock to improve on its customer relations through professional and competent staff to reclaim its past glory in banking. It is also re-branding the image of the bank with building a good relationship with the media as a special tool for selling its products. Nana Duncan, the Public Relations Manager of the GCB, said this, on Tuesday, at a press soiree aimed at interacting and building good rapport with the media fraternity.

He said the GCB in the past had had a very bad relationship with the media leading to negative publications against the bank, but noted that, "Thank God, we now have good relation with the media." Nana Duncan said Media Relations was an important marketing strategy for a surviving business, explaining: "without the media, no business would be successful in the current competitive market." He urged the media to provide the bank with useful assistance to review its strategies and facilitate its progress.

Mr. Adamu Robert Akati, Tamale Area Manager of GCB, appealed to the media to cross-check facts with the bank before publishing stories concerning its image because a dented image could be irreparable. The GCB currently has 16 branches in the three Northern Regions and intends to open two new branches at Buipe and at the Tamale Airport. 03 March 10
