The Executive Head of Retail Banking at GCB Bank, Sina Kamagate, has announced an initiative that will see to the creation of a special savings product known as the Hajj Account.

This account, according to him, is specifically designed for Muslim customers planning to undertake the holy pilgrimage to Mecca.

He made this known during a courtesy visit to the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, at his residence at Fadama in Accra.

He added that the bank's decision to introduce the Hajj Account stems from its commitment to promoting financial inclusion and corporate social responsibility.

He added that it is also to satisfy the unique financial needs of its Muslim customers.

"As a bank, we know why we were established. Very soon, you’ll hear that we are launching an account that we are calling the Hajj Account. This account is typically going to help Muslims who have aspirations of embarking on a religious journey to the holy land of Mecca,” he said.

This initiative demonstrates the bank's dedication to serving diverse religious communities and engaging with the community, as evident from their donation to support the Eid al-Adha festivities.
