GACL MD, staff reaffirm commitment to excellence during customer service week

The Managing Director of Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare, has emphasised the company’s commitment to delivering exceptional passenger experiences across all its airports, highlighting the 2025 International Customer Service Week theme: “Enjoyable Experience, Efficient Facilitation.”

In her opening address on Tuesday October 7, 2025, the GACL boss commended staff and stakeholders for their dedication to ensuring smooth, safe, and memorable journeys for travellers.

She noted the importance of reclaiming and exceeding GACL’s former standards of service through ongoing modernisation of systems, process improvements, and staff training aligned with international best practices.

“This year’s theme is a powerful call to action, reminding us that every traveller who passes through our terminals carries expectations, emotions, and a story,” Afriyie Opare said.

Assistant Director of Customer Service at the GACL, Eric Prempeh, on his part highlighted the critical role of teamwork in achieving service excellence and urged staff to take ownership of the customer experience while fostering collaboration across all departments.

A key highlight of the launch was the unveiling of the “SERVE” Standard, a new service creed designed to strengthen customer engagement across all GACL-operated airports.

The event also featured the signing of the Service Pledge by management, staff, and stakeholders, a symbolic affirmation of GACL’s dedication to outstanding customer service.

The 2025 Customer Service Week will be celebrated across all GACL-operated airports, featuring activities such as a Customer Service Awareness Forum, Airport Service Quiz, Stakeholder Engagement Sessions, and Staff Recognition Initiatives.

The International Customer Service Week (ICSW) is an annual event dedicated to recognising, celebrating, and promoting excellent customer service across industries. It usually takes place during the first full week of October and serves several purposes.
