French Oil Trade Mission to explore opportunities in Ghana

A French Oil and Gas Industry Trade Mission is in Accra to explore the possibility of investing in Ghana’s oil and gas sector.

GEP-AF-TP represents the interests of about 180 suppliers of equipment and services to the international oil and gas industry.

The officials have paid a courtesy call on the Energy and Petroleum Minister.

Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah said government is bent on ensuring transparency in the oil and gas sector and has passed laws to guide operations in the industry.

“Since 2010 we have made a lot of progress since we began oil production and November of that year we have taken steps to ensure that we strengthen transparency in the oil and gas industry passing the Petroleum Revenue Management Act.

"We are focusing on building the capacity of our national oil company we have also made steps to ensure that the local content is strengthen”, the Energy Minister added.

Ghana presently produces about 110,000 barrels of crude oil a day
