Ford Figo makes stylish debut at Accra Motor Fair in October

The management of Mechanical Lloyd will introduce the new Ford Figo at the upcoming Accra International Motor Fair scheduled for October 21-22.

The new Ford Figo, voted the 2011 Indian Car of the Year by a jury of leading automotive editors, will hit the Ghanaian market soon.

The jurors cited its attractive pricing, modern styling and plush interior as some of the reasons for winning such a coveted award.

This was contained in a statement issued in Accra on Tuesday by Mr Paul Asinor, Executive Director of Accra Motor Fair.

Mr Kojo Annobil, Group Sales Manager of Mechanical Lloyd, authorised dealers of Ford and BMW in Ghana, said ”As we are driven by the satisfaction of our customers, Mechanical Lloyd continues to introduce to the market safe as well as fuel-efficient vehicles such as the Ford Figo.

“The Ford Figo has an impressive fuel economy with a choice between a 1.4 litre manual transmission engine or a 1.6 litre automatic transmission engine. A smooth body shape and low-rolling-resistance tyres contribute to the Figo’s fuel efficiency.”

Mr Annobil said “Combining a strong body structure with front and rear crumple zones with driver and front-seat passenger airbags, safety belt and an available Anti-Lock Brake System, the Ford Figo offers maximum safety.

“It has a high roofline for ample head room and tremendous space. The new Ford Figo also has a large glass area that improves visibility to manoeuvre your way in traffic and is fitted with side repeater lamps that help you to be seen when changing lanes.”

Mr Annobil assured buyers, “You will never have to worry about the heat as the Figo is equipped with an extra large air conditioning compressor whiles there is a fitted audio input jack for an MP3 player, a CD player and a Radio Data System, all protected with the security of a standard Passive Anti-Theft System. The Ford Figo has a large rear hatch to fill with 10 cubic feet of trunk space.”

Speaking on behalf of OML Africa, organisers of the event, Mr Asinor said, “We are proud to have one of the world’s leading models, the Ford Figo, to be premiered at the fair. It certainly will be a major highlight at this year’s show which is destined to be the leading event on Ghana’s automotive calendar.

The Accra Motor Fair will offer dealers in the car industry a unique platform to showcase their latest products and services to a highly targeted audience whiles generating sales and increasing trade.”

He said, ”This is the first time Accra will host a motor show to such an international standard and as organisers we are working round the clock to satisfy all our exhibitors as well as the 3,000 visitors expected to attend the expo. The fair will present an affluent audience from leading businesses, organisations and individuals who simply do not have the time to conduct extensive research when making a new vehicle purchase, who have no time to visit a car show room and who simply do not know what is really available when it comes to buying either car, a car part or accessories, car insurance or acquiring an auto loan in Ghana.“

“This expo was therefore created to offer the solution to these issues as well as provide a platform for leading brands to show off what they have, explain what is available and how visitors can buy it in a relaxed and fun way.”

Other reputable companies expected to exhibit at the fair include Rana Motors(authorised dealers of Kia); Africa Motors(dealers in Isuzu, Suzuki and Chevrolet); Stallion Group(dealers in Honda, Hyundai, Skoda); Viramsun Ghana Limited (dealers in Suntrac tyres, Goodride tyres, Nison tyres, Jinyu tyres and BKT Tyres), Pek Solutions (a Tramigo vehicle tracking solutions provider).

There would be other exhibitors displaying an array of new and used vehicles, motor bikes, more efficient fuel lubricants, car accessories, auto insurance and auto loan services.

Media sponsors of the fair include Daily Graphic, Graphic Business, Economy Times newspaper and Which Page Publications.
