First Capital Plus CEO wins corporate merit award

The CEO of First Capital Plus, John Kofi Mensah has received a corporate merit award at the 6th TNG Corporate Merit Awards 2013 for his outstanding contribution to Ghana’s banking industry.

The New Ghanaian (TNG) Corporate Merit Award is an award which honours leading organizations and personalities who have distinguished themselves in various fields of operation in corporate Ghana.

John Kofi Mensah is a distinguished banker with over twenty years experience in Ghana’s banking industry spanning treasury management, credit management, talent development and foreign operations. He also has a strong reputation in the industry for building start-ups and driving growth.

Barely two years after joining FCP, he has driven the company to become the largest Savings & Loans Company in Ghana and the CIMG Non-Bank Financial Institution of the year 2012. In July, 2012 First Capital Plus achieved an unprecedented feat when it acquired a provisional universal banking after barely three years of operating as a Savings & Loans and information indicates that the company is poised to launch operations as a fully fledged universal bank in the course of the year.

John Kofi Mensah holds MSc. degree in Banking and Finance from FINAFRICA in Milan, Italy and a BA degree in Economics and Statistics from the University of Ghana, Legon. Prior to joining First Capital Plus (FCP) he was a Deputy Managing Director at uniBank where he was responsible for the day-to-day management of the bank’s operations. He also worked as General Manager/Deputy CEO at International Commercial Bank (ICB) where he supervised the organic growth of the bank.
