Afariwaa Invitational Golf at Tema

Tema, Dec. 20, GNA--The annual Afariwaa Invitational Golf Championship tees off at the Tema Country Golf Course on Saturday, December 24.

Mr. Ebenezer Adablanu, Chief Executive Officer of Tema Country Golf Club, who annoumnced this at Tema on Tuesday, said about 150 amateur golfers from Tema, Celebrity, Achimota, and Bok Nam Kim golf cl;ubs have been invited to participate in the competition. He said the competition which shall be played under the rules of the World's Golf governing body and the local rules of the Tema Country Golf Club, is being sponsored by Afariwaa Farms Limited. Mr Adablanu named some of the golfers who had registered for the competition as John Cobbina, Kjofi Gyau, William Yeboah, all of Tema Country Golf Club and Kwme Saarah-Mensah is expected tio lead the Achimota teaam which would include John Sam, Yaw Assah-Sam and Lee Mensah.

The Ladies section, he said, would also witness veteran golfers like Miona Captan, Elizaabeth Ezan, Ama Morgan and Maria Ben-George, all of Achimota Golf Club.

Nana Owusu Afari, Managingn Director of Afariwaa Farms would be assisted by Kofi Gyau, the Captain, to present prizes to the winners. The Tema Golf Club would open year 2006 activities with the Lady Captain's Prize competition on January 14, 2006.
