Exporters must open business websites - GEPA

A Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), Akilu Sayibu, has urged exporters and potential exporters of non-traditional commodities to promote their businesses through corporate websites to attract potential buyers.

Speaking to a group of exporters in Accra, Mr Sayibu urged them to procure business portals since the export business is an international trade.

“An export entity with a website is more likely to reach potential buyers with its products and services than one without a website,” he posited.

The Deputy GEPA CEO disclosed that most exporters do not have websites to market their companies and also reach out to the market.

Mr Sayibu also encouraged exporters to design business cards, leaflets and other marketing paraphernalia to market their products and services when attending local and international trade fairs and exhibitions.

The Deputy GEPA CEO also used the occasion to appeal to exporters to see the Ghana Export Promotion Authority as their leading source of information on the export of non-traditional products and services to any part of the world.
