Equip workforce to delight customers, businesses told

Nana Abban Nana Abban

Organizations have been told to create value and equip their workforce to delight their customers, rather solely chasing profits and revenue.

Nana Abban, Founder of the Agile in Africa Conference, who made this call, added that organisations will not last long if it chases only revenue and profits.

“They must create value that delight employees and customers alike and inspire people to reach the stars and do everything to the best of their ability.

He said profit is a by-product of value and there is so much an organisation can get from creating value.

Nana Abban was speaking to The Finder on the sidelines of Agile in Africa Business and Technology Conference 2016 in Accra.

Agile in Africa platform is the first of its kind in Africa and promotes the use of agile principles, technologies, processes, and frameworks to transform and drive projects or entire organisations.

Agile is about future proofing organisations, resulting in changes which can save organisations millions – where change is welcomed as opportunity; threats and wastes are rooted out; and value is delivered sooner with strong emphasis on continuous improvement and delighting customers and stakeholders.

He said Agile is set to change the way people and organisations work for good, “the Agile in Africa Conference 2016 is of great significance because it is timely. Africa is rising with over one billion consumers and Agile will be one of the accelerators.

“Agile will help to grow business in Africa but also it would help young people to be better qualified, more marketable to be able to work on the job market as well creating employment.

The theme of the 2016 Conference was ‘The Way of the Cheetah’ and it presented thoughts on what a modern and successful organisation looks like in the 21st Century Digital Age.

It provoked new ideas, provided practical examples on what works and what doesn’t work in leadership and organisational change and how to delight customers and employees.
