The Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations has denied making payments to some category of workers.

It said the Ministry has not issued any such statement, explaining that the Ministry's official website is: www.melr.gov.gh and NOT www.minlabour/melr, as being circulated on the social media.

“The attention of the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations has been drawn to a news item circulating on the social media entreating workers who have worked between 1990 and 2019 to log onto a certain website to check details of their salary benefits.”

A signed statement from the Public Affairs Unit of the Ministry and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Thursday, urged the public to disregard the directive circulating on the social media.

According to the false statement circulating on the social media, workers were to check their details on a certain website and proceed to the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations for payment of benefits of five hundred and seventy-five Ghana Cedis and ten pesewas (GH¢575.10).
