Electromfair Ghana '02 Opens

Mr Albert Kan-Dapaah, Minister of Energy, has urged the private sector to develop innovative ways of bringing down the cost of energy efficient products. This, he said, could be in the area of financing or full or part-manufacture of the appliances in Ghana.

Mr Dapaah, said this in a speech read for him at the first Africa International Electrical, Electronics and Machinery Trade Fair, dubbed

"ELECTROMFAIR Ghana 2002".

"While we talk about energy efficiency, it is important that the manufacturing base or even the assembling of the energy efficient appliances is carried out in Ghana."

The Royal Protocol Management Services in collaboration with the

Ministry of Energy is organising the four-day fair with sponsorship from the RA-Innovative Company Limited for participants to showcase the different types of energy efficient appliances.
