President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Edmond Kombat as the new Acting Managing Director of Tema Oil Refinery (TOR).

Prior to his appointment, Kombat served as the Deputy Managing Director of TOR since February 2025.

In a press release sighted by GhanaWeb Business, TOR management announced, "The management of Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) Ltd. is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Edmond Kombat Esq. by the President of the Republic as the new Acting Managing Director of TOR Ltd."

Edmond Kombat brings extensive experience in the energy sector to his new role as Acting Managing Director of Tema Oil Refinery.

He has previously worked at the Ministry of Energy, the Bulk Oil Storage & Transportation Company (BOST), and Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) Ltd.

Kombat is also the co-founder of the Institute of Energy Security (IES) and has served in advisory strategic roles across South Africa, Tanzania, and Mozambique.

Kombat is optimistic about driving Tema Oil Refinery’s transformation to contribute to Ghana’s economic growth and support the country in achieving energy security.
