Ecobank Transnational Pulls GSE Index lower

Accra, Aug. 8, GNA - The GSE-Composite Index (GSE-CI), the benchmark measure of performance of the Ghana Stock Exchange, fell 9.17 points to close at 1,176.17 points from 1,185.34 points.

The bourse has thus returned a year-to-date gain of 17.62 per cent.

The GSE-Financial Stocks Index (GSE-FSI), which tracks the performance of listed financial stocks, also dipped 10.20 points to 1,121.68 points from 1,131.88 points with corresponding year-to-date change of 12.17 per cent.

There were five price changes – two up and three laggards.

Ecobank Transnational Incorporated shed GH¢0.01 to GH¢0.14, Cocoa Processing Company was down GH¢0.01 to GH¢0.02, and Ayrton Drug Manufacturing Company fell GH¢0.01 to GH¢0.15.

The gainers were; Total Petroleum Ghana up GH¢0.23 to GH¢22.04 and State Insurance Company added GH¢0.01 to GH¢0.54.

Market Capitalisation closes the session at GH¢48,438.24 million cedis.

Total volumes traded were 201,760 shares, valued at GH¢97,866.26.
