As part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) e.TV Ghana in collaboration with Japan Motors has donated 3,000ghc to the Ghana Blind Union.
This was in fulfilment of a commitment by e. TV Ghana and Japan Motors to commit a percentage of proceeds from the 2017 ETV Japan Motors Corporate Run to support the blind.
According to Melanie Botha, Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Global Media Alliance Broadcasting Company e. TV Ghana and Japan Motors are committed to supporting the Ghana Blind Union through Corporate Run.
“ The e.TV Japan Motors Corporate Run is in its sixth edition and since its inception, we have supported the blind union and we do not intend to stop now. We know that the blind union has needs that have to be met. We believe that the money will go a long to help this union,” she said.
“We agreed to take out 5ghc from each registration during the 2017 ETV Japan Motor Corporate Run. Out of the 400 people who registered to run, we managed to raise 2,000ghc but out of the benevolence others, we got another 1,000ghc to make it 3,000ghc,” she added.
Receiving the cheque, Dr Peter Obeng Asamoah, Executive Director of the Ghana Blind Union commended e. TV Ghana and Japan Motors for the kind gesture.
“The Ghana Blind Union is very honoured by this kind gesture. For a very long time now, e.TV Ghana and Japan Motors through the Corporate Run have been there to support us. We are equally happy to have been part of the event. We want to pledge that this money will be used to support the union,”
