ECOBANK gains sustain stock index

Accra, Nov. 1, GNA - Gains for the second day running by the two ECOBANK equities - ECOBANK Ghana and ECOBANK Transnational - pushed the main sock index up, but volumes were still low.

The GSE All-Share Index was 4.19 points better at 4,977.52 points from 4,973.33 points on Tuesday and change for the year went up to 4.37 per cent from 4.28 per cent.

ECOBANK Ghana gained 150 cedis at 12,700 cedis while ECOBANK Transnational gained 80 cedis at 8,800 cedis.

Total shares traded were down at 41,300 cedis from 47,100 on Tuesday but market capitalisation was better at 111,614.12 billion cedis from 111,588.61 billion cedis.
