The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Tema Region, has engaged customers at the Community One Market as part of activities marking Customer Service Month 2026.
The engagement, held on October 29, 2026, provided an opportunity for members of the public to interact with ECG officials and seek assistance with electricity-related concerns.
Customers who visited a stand mounted by the company raised issues including how to obtain new or separate meters, difficulties loading credit onto their meters, and meters that continued to blink despite having credit.
Some customers expressed appreciation for the initiative, saying they were happy to see ECG officials engaging directly with the public at the market.
Representing the Tema Regional General Manager, Revenue Protection Manager Zita Kyei-Gyamfi said the exercise was intended to appreciate customers and reaffirm the company's commitment to quality service delivery.
"ECG is committed to providing safe, reliable and quality electricity supply to our cherished customers," she said.
Madam Kyei-Gyamfi also cautioned the public against illegal electricity connections, explaining that such practices could overburden transformers and affect the reliability of electricity supply.
She urged those involved in illegal connections to desist from the practice, warning that offenders would be prosecuted.
A team from ECG's Communications Directorate at the Head Office, led by the Manager for Services Marketing, Patricia Brefo, joined the Tema Regional Communications Unit for the exercise.
