Document shows Finance Ministry released GH¢1.6 billion to Agriculture Ministry

A document detailing government expenditure indicates that the Ministry of Finance has released more than GH¢1.6 billion to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA), representing 85 percent of the ministry's 2026 budget allocation for Goods and Services and Capital Expenditure (CAPEX).

The document shows that releases for Goods and Services have reached 94.73 percent of the approved allocation, while releases for CAPEX stand at 74.66 percent.

According to the records, all requests for Goods and Services funding were initiated by MOFA, with the exception of a release made to the National Food Buffer Stock Company.

The document also contains transaction details including requisition dates, journal numbers, approval dates and warrant numbers for each release.

The document further indicates that the journal and warrant numbers were generated through the Ghana Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS), the platform used by ministries, departments and agencies to process and manage government financial transactions.

The records provide a detailed trail of the releases and approvals, offering verifiable documentation of the funds disbursed to the ministry during the period under review.
