An Accra High Court has slapped the Executive Secretary of the Chamber of Petroleum Consumers (COPEC), Duncan Amoah with a fine of GHc700 for failing to file the relevant documents since the last adjournment on the 18th of May 2017.

The Managing Director of Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company (BOST), Alfred Obeng has filed a defamation suit against Duncan Amoah after he claimed some unidentified persons linked to the former have threatened to take his life after he uncovered an alleged shady deal at BOST.

Duncan Amoah asserts that COPEC’s investigations have revealed an alleged sell off of 1.8million barrels of crude oil by BOST, causing the state to lose about 5.3 million dollars.

But the BOST MD who has taken strong exception to the unsubstantiated allegations of criminality against him, has resorted to court to have his name cleared.

The case has been adjourned to Monday the 25th of June, 2018.
