Cocoa buyers look for licence compromise

Ghana cocoa buyers are looking for a compromise with the state-run Cocoa Marketing Company, to export independently of the company’s monopoly. Three buyers have been granted provisional three-month licences to export 30 % of their bean purchase independently, but to be granted permanent licences, the company needs to prove that they can finance all purchases.
