Chief Executive Officer of one of Ghana's foremost fashion hubs, Akaal Dekor, Hawah Braimah, has bemoaned the growing trend of Chinese fashion businesses giving their Ghanaian counterparts a good run for their money.

Ms. Braimah, who doubles as the Principal of Akaal Fashion College at Kwamo in the Ashanti region blamed this development on the Chinese offering their products and services at prices far lower than those from Ghanaians.

The multiple award-winning business woman was, however, quick to add that should the Chinese leave the business, their Ghanaian counterparts may not be able to meet the market demands so the government should support the indigenous businesses structurally and financially to meet their production targets for the local and international markets.

Akaal Dekor has, over 20 years, contributed immensely to the Ghanaian fashion industry which has been a backbone of the creative sector.

The company's high standards have attracted the internationally acclaimed Divas in the United States of America to severally send its officials to Ghana.

The recent feat was Akaal Dekor collections catching the unprecedented attention of His Royal Highness Prince Charles of Wales at the new Kejetia Market in Kumasi during his visit to the country.
