Chartered Institute of Bankers honours Vice President Amissah-Arthur

The Chartered Institute of Bankers at the week-end conferred an honorary fellowship on Vice President Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur.

The award was in recognition of the special role the Vice President, who was the immediate past Governor of the Bank of Ghana, played in the development of the Institute and the financial services sector of the economy.

The Vice President picked the award at the 2012 Annual Bankers’ Dinner in Accra.

In a brief statement, he touched on the need for commercial banks to get set for management of huge resources that would come from the oil industry, meeting of capitalization requirements and taking very effective measures to check money laundering.
